Digital

Digital photography was my first introduction to photography as a hobby. While film has become a large part of my work, digital is still important to my workflow. Digital complements film as it’s more reliable counterpart, and when technical perfection is the goal.

Film

Film is what got me hooked on photography. Starting with 35mm and then moving to medium format, the tones, more considered workflow, character keep me shooting. The slower process makes me assess every shot in ways I can’t with digital.

Process

I like complete control of my film process. Selection of film stock and camera can drastically change the tone of potential compositions. I develop all my film myself, and use a DSLR scanning set up for perfect digitization of negatives. 120 film can reach around 100 megapixels with this technique.
